Supporting DASH at Easter

As we moved from Winter to Spring this year, lots of things were actively happening in our lives. For instance, the easing of the recent pandemic allowing business to re-activate, schools fully active, huge hikes in household bills and raw materials etc etc. A unique time for most people for sure.

Of course, at the DASH Charity (Domestic Abuse Stops Here), which Industria Lodge actively supports, things continued as they had for the previous months. Whilst we had witnessed massive change, domestic abuse routinely continues, whatever the climate. In fact, because of difficulties brought about by the pandemic, mental health issues grew, making the lives of the children and families registered with the DASH Charity very difficult. This in turn put their wonderful volunteers under lots more pressure.

At Industria, we thought that we could provide some light and glee to the children by asking our members to donate whatever they could afford for us to buy a huge selection of Easter Eggs. Once the funds had been received 2 of our members visited the local Tesco and we started shopping! We had collected enough for around 80 eggs which we then passed over to Bonita Line, a DASH volunteer, who packed them into her car and drove off smiling. She later said that they had organised Easter Egg hunts for the children who loved the challenge of hunting down chocolate!
